Style Me Pretty - for the return of Spring!

Belmond Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons - Oxfordshire
Well...I know it's coming - Spring that is, and on the days the sky is blue we have a subtle reminder that the sun is getting closer to earth again and soon all the beautiful flowers will bloom for us all to appreciate and enjoy.
Our M.A.C.H team will be happy at the return so that sun drenched beach shoots down on the south coast can be had as opposed to days spent on winter photo shoots at 1 am, which can prove a tad chilly - so everyone here's a beauty from Summer past - one of our incredible artists Sarah Elizabeth working with some lovely creatives on a shoot for leading blog 'Style Me Pretty' at the haven known as Le Manoir.Wedding planning and event styling by Vicki at Pocketful of Dreams. Shot by charming dream duo 'Weddings by Nicola & Glen'.

Jessica's 3 day Hair Master class with Portfolio shoot day Dec '14

Delighted to design a 3 day Master class for Jessica. 2 days concentrating on a new skill set - HAIR.
I completely put myself in an artists shows when she comes to me explaining her fear of styling hair - for the first 5 years in my career I feared it, but knew I had to master it and to master something you must understand it - then everything starts to click into place.

I have developed a wonderful step by step class for beginners that enables them to fully understand each stage and I can soon start to see where their strong areas and weak areas are and can adjust the teachings accordingly - its so wonderful to watch the artist start to digest the moves, usually within the first 30 minutes, and subtle confidence starts to bloom...

This class was based on the following:

Prepping/hair type/sectioning/products/face shape/back brushing/curling options/blow dry/volume/down styles/half up styles/up styles/pining/looking at styling the hair line onto/off face.
A key in all these stages is also to show an artist how she can go from one look to the next and the next - essential for work with any photographer!

The main aim for this class was for Jessica to be able to understand the fundamental aspects to hair, to find her passion here, and to see the results that come when working with my one to one techniques. She could then show case her 'mastering' with her make-up at the 3rd day which is the PORTFOLIO shoot day. Thanks to our
One of my favourite shots of all time - stunning, and a real talking point in any artists  portfolio.

Striking! I wanted Jessica to perfect her symmetry and to create 2 characters

A little burnt Orange on the lips for this 'quick change'.

Clean lines were the goal here...perfect!

This was just captured naturally using the natural light mid conversation on a break - love art!

All about the eyes here and added to the strength Jessica then added for the last few shots the Fushia hot pink lip

Flawless base - key to any artist / Hair tamed, curls accentuated

Hair then placed up and lips taken down

Bridal or how I prefer to call this look and style: Red carpet elegance

Hair remains the same but make-up is changed into warm bronze tones to completely change the feel

Natural Flawless Beauty Make-up is my signature teachings - then I show how you build up a look - subtle lips and eyes added

Jessica adding MAC 'Girl About Town' lipstick for that hit of colour under darker moodier lighting

2 incredible professional models and the all important photographer.

Having an incredible team with me, enables all our skills to come together on days like this.
The M.A.C.H team provided first class makeup & hair for our fabulous event for 30 business ladies from all parts of the world on Tuesday 21st February for The Brit Awards.

The ladies had 3 hrs to enjoy their luxury afternoon, with fruit smoothies, juices, canapes, fruit platters & delicate miniature cakes upon arrival, before settling into their hour each of grooming...
Conversation, laughter and music courtesy of 'Cafe del Mare' enveloped the room creating a beautiful environment for all.
The event took place at the sensational Spa on the 10th floor of 'The Four Seasons Hotel' on London's infamous Park Lane. With views to die for, it truly is the leading location for any spa day, ladies day, or week/weekend away in style & luxury. You will be in the caring hands of Spa manager Livia Reddington and her fabulous team here.
With a birds eye view of the city of London you can enjoy the Spa cafe for a healthy light refreshment, a cocktail of pure juices and to revel in the elixir of life - but today the Spa cafe was transformed into any girls dream of the perfect Makeup & Hair boutique and we all look forward to many more events here...

From all at The M.A.C.H team & Management-many thanks Livia, Dora, Genevieve and team.

JESSIE J's DANCERS - BY BECKY S

Jessie J Dancers - Elstree Studios for Universal - Saturday 18th February

Some of the M.A.C.H team were up bright and early at off to Elstree studios to do Jessie J's Dancers for 'Lets Dance' for sport relief.
Our make up brief was a flawless skin, peachy cheeks with a lovely glow. Focus being on the lashes and a bold, bright lip.
Our hair brief to start was a super sleek ponytail with a netting/lace around the base of the ponytail to give it some structure. See this image below from Donna Karen s/s 12 as an example (ponytails are on trend on the catwalks at the moment)

During rehearsals we all kept an eye on the monitors backstage, afterwards we all went back to the dressing room, Jessie J herself had to go and change and the dancers needed touch ups. This was when we changed the hair, and then took off the black and orange lipsticks to be replaced with pink and a lovely bright blue. The hair was changed from a pony tail into a hair knot, so the team took out the netting and twisted and tied up the ponytail into a knot. We all had our hair products at the ready to make sure everything was sleek before the filming.
Products I used for Hair:

Loreal studio architect shine wax *courtesy of the lovely Holly(M.A.C.H team)!
Tigi 'Way Out' Super Hair Glue - for some texture and to fight those strays!
Tresemme Super strong hold hairspray

Products used for the bold lip and gorgeous glow on the make up:

M.A.C Strobe cream
M.A.C Chromaline - (as reviewed by M.A.C.H team on the blog, a great product, gorgeous colours!) These were used as the lip colour. The blue really stands out well on camera!
