DIRECTOR OF THE MOVIE 'THE WOMAN IN BLACK' - James Watkins

Our Press Junket Room for the day at The Corinthia Hotel, London

Press Junket by Claire Hanson

Today I was with a press junket for the new movie 'The Woman In Black' and I had the pleasure of working with the charming Director James Watkins. The movie set in Yorkshire will premier in London tomorrow, and fans of Daniel Radcliffe will no doubt be lining the pavements of Leicester Square for a glimpse of the actor.

James had flawless skin and not wishing for a 'face of makeup' I applied the magic 'UV Under Base Mousse' in Beige by Shu Uemura, which is fabulous for evening out skin tone and texture, disguising redness, minimizes the appearance of pores and is just the best under base/primer I have ever used...totally perfect for everyone including male grooming! Guys love the look of their skin with this on...
Then applied a small buff over the skin of Nars Duo Concealer in Vanilla/Honey - perfect for the paler toned skin, and set that very lightly with The Green People's Pressed Foundation Powder in Honey and the interviews began...

JOANNA TROLLOPE SHOOT

For the launch of her new book,'The Soldier's Wife'

Another delightful shoot with the ever so lovely Joanna Trollope. It was a pleasure to be asked again to work on the new publicity shots for what will be another fabulous book launch for ‘The Soldier’s Wife’ which is due to be released on the 2nd February published by Transworld.

I created Joanna’s natural look with a range of Organic Mineral Makeup by The Green People - for a flawless base try their pressed mineral foundation powder in 'Caramel' great for yellow undertones, and mature skin looks effortlessly immaculate, certainly not caked or heavy. Very easy to use with a kabuki brush in large circular movements.

Joanna's eyes were dusted with Nars duo eye shadow in 'Byzance' - by mixing the two shades and applying to the lid up into the sockets, followed by Nars single eye shadow in Blondie
worked into the lower lash line very softly and along top lashes to create a slight shadow, for contrast, finished with The Green People's Soya Volumising Mascara in black. To compliment and finish the whole natural sophisticated feel that Joanna exudes, I used a Blusher by Nars in Zen, a fabulous hint of colour for that barely there, clean look!

The Green People - Suitable for sensitive skin and those prone to acne, eczema, psoriasis or rosacea - Free from the harsh synthetic chemicals found in many high street make-up brands such as Mercury, Phthalates, Parabens & Carcinogens. Also free from Bismuth Oxychloride and Carmine.

These beautiful images were taken by Society Photographers, the dynamic duo, Susie Barker and Harley Evans of Barkerevans photography.

Thanks to Katie from Transworld and thanks to Joanna for the perfect cup of tea and inspirational conversations...delightful!

West is West - Photo Calls, Press conference and Red Carpet

M.A.C.H Artists - Amy Brandon and Melanie Meik

Due to be released in Feb 2011 West is West is the sequel to the 90s hit East is East. Set in the 1970s, the film follows the story of a mixed race family in Salford. Most of the original cast has reassembled including Om Puri, Ila Arun, Lesley Nicol, Linda Bassett, Emil Marwa and Jimi Mistry.
I worked throughout the day with Ila Arun, who also sings on the hindu song "Ringa Ringa" featured on the soundtrack of Slumdog Millionaire. For Ila's make up - her eyes were the feature of her look, using strong smokey tones blending dusky pinks in the inner corner of the top eyelid blended into Matte grey and black eye shadows, heavily lined with MAC blacktrack gel liner and highlighted with a gold pigment to make them pop!

I also worked with MACH Artist Melanie Meik to get Leslee Udwin and Linda Bassett ready for the red carpet that evening. We had to work fast but team 'Melamy' made sure everyone was on time and looking amazing for the premiere!

Emily Watson - Oranges and Sunshine Premiere

MACH Artist - Cherie
As part of the M.A.C.H Team, in 2011 I worked with Emily Watson for her red carpet appearance for the London premiere of her movie ‘Oranges and Sunshine’.
Emily’s flawless complexion was enhanced by using a MAC foundation and powder. Her eyes were given a pop of colour by using oranges, golds, and warm toned browns, and finished with a brown eyeliner and mascara. Emily’s hair was kept quite natural by putting a wave through the lengths of her hair. One side was tucked behind Emily’s hair, which gave for a more relaxed feel to the occasion. Emily wanted to feel premiere ready, whilst keeping her natural appeal. @MACH_Cherie

Curl up and Dye - Witney hair salon shoot. - Sunday 27th Nov

M.A.C.H Artists - Becky Sutton and Bekki Robinson -

As part of the MACH team, me and Bekki Robinson went to Curl Up and Dye Hair salon in Witney, Oxfordshire to do a shoot as part of their Christmas themed campaign. The salon team did the hair, we did the make up. The theme was A Christmas Carol, we had two models. Model 1 was going to have dark eyes and pale skin representing scrooge before the ghost visitations, and model 2 was a more bright, colourful/warm make up look which was representing Scrooge after the ghost visitations. Me and Bekki decided that I was going to do model 1, and her model 2.
The hair styling was amazing and their salon was beautiful! Check out the salon's website here http://www.curlupanddye.co.uk/
For my model they created a bonnet out of the hair, and for Bekki's they created a large christmas tree out of it.
Make Up I used:
With my look, I was going for sunken/dark eyes with pale skin and lips. I prepped the skin and then applied the base. The foundation I used was a liquid by Maxfactor, lasting performance in 'Fair' as this was two shades paler then my models skin tone, but not so pale that it stood out too much on the models skin. For the eyes I used M.A.C eye shadow's in ' Chrome Yellow' 'Cranberry' (underneath the eyes)' Carbon' and 'typographic'(along the socket line) to give stronger colour. Carbon I used on the upperlids and blended together to create a really dark eye. I used a brown eye shadow to continue the dark, sunken look into the contour of the cheeks. On the lips I used concealer and clear lipgloss mixed together to finish off the make up.

London Bloomsbury Bridal Shoot

M.A.C.H Artist - Amy Brandon - Here are a few of my favourite images from a shoot I did back in Feb2011. I had the pleasure of working with Photographer Aneta Mak and Stylist Mary from forever and ever events. It was such a fun day, big thanks to Mary and Anita!
Check us out on: 100 layer cake blog - http://bit.ly/eM7uE2
Rock and Roll Bride – http://bit.ly/mImDOk

I Used Emani Make Up for this shoot - I recommend these products to anyone looking to go green with their Make Up. It is even suitable for Vegans and Gluten Free. Emani products are silky soft and easy to blend, but you still get great colour pay off. My Favourite product is pressed mineral powder in Ginger.

Everywhere and Nowhere press junket day

M.A.C.H Artists - Amy Brandon and Melanie Meik -
Mel and I (Melamy!!) teamed up again as part of Claire Hanson's team and had a great time looking after Simon Webbe, James Floyd, Shivani Ghai and Director Menhaj Huda. They were all good company and we were just making sure they were all well presented and looking beautiful throughout back to back press interviews at the chic Soho Hotel – which, by the way is a gorgeous hotel filled with lots of one off quirky pieces of art and things..Its beautiful!
I used - Pores No More from Space NK on the guys to stop shine and leave their skin looking silky smooth and shine free. Worked a treat and they loved it!
The film is a drama centered on a British Asian torn between honoring his family traditions and his love for DJing. I reckon it could be worth a watch ;0)

M.A.C.H Artist Charlie Pearcy for Delores Chaplin - Private screening of 'The Artist'

On the 11th December 2011 I travelled to London to do the hair and makeup for Charlie Chaplins Granddaughter Delores Chaplin for the private screening of 'The Artist'.

Delores was wearing a beautiful black lace dress by D&G so wanted to have her hair and makeup in a soft romantic style to compliment.

Her hair was loosely waved and tussled with the sides loosely pinned back off her face to compliment the dress design which was lower at the back.

For her makeup we used a light moisturising foundation YSL Perfect Touch which is great to leave the skin looking fresh but also flawless.

We used eye shadows MAC Shroom and Brun to create a subtle Smokey eye with a strong black eye liner  MAC Black Track Fluid Line, topped off with YSL Faux Cils Mascara.

Keeping the lips soft we used a light pink gloss in Deelight  by MAC.

Papillion Blue's Luxury Resort Wear gave guests a feeling of warmer days around the corner, as the M.A.C.H team prepared the models for their look an 'on trend' lip with a flawless, dewy base to bring the emphasis to the Caftans and bikini's that graced the stage in one of London's premier venues.

Melissa George - A Lonely Place to Die - London Premier

M.A.C.H artist Amy Brandon - 3 fabulous days working as part of m.a.c.h - looking after Melissa George's Hair and Make up. She is stunning and a pleasure to work with!
Melissa also invented - Hemming My Way - girls, guys and stylists alike must check it out!

At her premier we did a modern take on a winged out smokey eye liner - I used M.A.C Blacktrack Fluid Line and blended out the edges into a nude shadow - M.A.C Eye Shadow in Malt and kept the skin natural and fresh with oil free tinted moisturiser from Laura Mercier, M.A.C Mocha Blush and her own nude lipstick from Bobbi Brown. We kept her signature side swept wavy hair to add elegance to the look.

She looked amazing! .. I recommend the film to anyone who fancies a nail biting, action thriller. It certainly is not for the faint hearted, and Melissa did all her own stunts!! Huge Respect to you Melissa!

Chloe Moretz - 'Hugo' premiere London

One of my favorite ladies, the gorgeous actress CHLOE MORETZ, was in town for several days of press and TV for her new movie 'HUGO' with Director Martin Scorsese, before heading to Paris for more promo and Premiers, where she was in fine hands of M.A.C.H artist Melanie Meik who kindly stepped in for me, due to a short trip with Mr Richie in Dublin.

The evening was a windy one...and so Chloe and decided upon a chic yet messy Boho style side knot...worked well with the structure of her dress, except one gust too many separated the parting a little!! Mother nature...

The makeup was as always with Chloe, fresh and glowing, with little powder, main concentration of makeup on the eyes - this time using TERRE D'OC very kindly sent from the lovely Liz at Goddess PR...I used the fabulous eye Kohl in Black along Chloe's bottom lashes, working it into the lower inner eye for a dramatic look, drawing attention to the eyes, yet soft on the lid in NACRE MEKNES 404 and a hint of warmth in the cheeks Fard Á Joues Blush 821 Corail Goto and the mineral foundation Beige Tendre Atlas 901 as a dusting, followed by Lip Gloss SUBLIME in NUDE 304...adds just enough to finish off a cool, sophisticated look.

Fabulous Footage of the Vintage Bridal Tea Party

The elegant surroundings of Dartmouth House, Mayfair, London were home for the evening as the M.A.C.H team and I entertained the invited guests from 'Alter-ed Events' to a Vintage Inspired evening, with Makeup and Hair demo's from myself - with some hints and tips to try at home, together with 12 of the team providing makeup and hair for each and every guest at the tables. Mirrors, makeup and magic turned the event into a scene from 'Breakfast At Tiffany's' - elegance at its best...
